Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

Trinidad Museum Garden Tour

When: Sun., June 4, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. 2017
Price: $10, $25 family
Come spend an early summer afternoon in Pat Wells' magical garden! Bring your family, bring a picnic. The garden delights kids with its many paths to follow and secrets places to explore. It has a pond in the woods with big red, white, black goldfish, a seastack to climb up and look for whales, an ocean cove below, usually with seals sunning on the rocks. Then there is a meadow full of fruit trees and berries getting ripe, flowers blooming. And for gardeners, these eight acres of ever-changing habitats, are a fabulous inspiration and education. Pat has been collecting plants, experimenting, for many years. Her method is the time-honored one: trial & error. The coastal climate of Humboldt County is unusual--many plants prefer more heat, more cold, less water etc., but Pat is persistent. Her curiosity and love for plants seem boundless. Most of the plants are labeled, but if not, Pat will be on hand, and she loves talking plants!
