Dale Bridges makes a good point (Mailbox, March 29). We should leave the discussion of whether the McKinley statue should stay or go to the original inhabitants of the Arcata land. And ergo to heck with what any "newcomers" think! Thus, I say we leave it to the Wiyot people that McKinley advocated wiping out and oppressing. I'm sure Dale will be OK with this decision, as it's all about what the original residents want versus those no good out-of-towners. After all, every good decision depends solely on who was there first!
