Re: “Wealth Care

Thank you, it is refreshing, for our sense of community, to find this in our local paper. I'm wondering why we can't have more of an alternative voice in these pages and the other local papers? I know people would appreciate it.

Re: “Screaming Atoms and Headlines

NCJ is way out of its depths here. Internal radiation exposure is the main concern, that would be from inhaling radiation particles or eating contaminated food. The only way to know what we are receiving is to is test the food(milk) and water. Please find a doctor or biologist with the appropriate background to inform us on this subject. One thing to remember is children are up to 200 times more sensitive to radiation than adults. Here is one study that should raise some serious questions. In addition Greenpeace has a good briefing.

Re: “A New Mold

I totally agree. I'm tired of the re-tread national news! Get rid of the terrible nationally syndicated oped people T-S puts in their editorials. I would much rather hear what David Meserve opinion than that of Bill O'riley as I have heard the later enough time to know what he thinks, just one example of many. Additionally I would like to see more coverage from T-S and NCJ after the fact. When young people rob someone with an AK47, for instance, I would like to know more about the hows and whys, as in how did they get a machine gun and why did they think they could get away with it. If they are local this might mean interviewing their parents, friends, teachers and the police. Instead what happens is these stories go into some kind of black-hole, never to be discussed again.

Re: “Damn the Job-Haters

Although the writer correctly identified the ignorance and futility of the county's hopeless re-branding project, he seems only to blame the people the project is trying to help for its inevitable demise. The reality is there haven't been ANY good ideas from the office of economic development or the larger business community for years. Most of these so called economic development schemes are just another excuse to drain the county of dollars and resources. As long as the trade off is $1 for county for every $10 made by verizon (or who ever comes in here ) we should say no way.
