The Daily Life of the “Hidden Homeless” Examined at Lifetree Café

The daily struggles and experiences of the transitionally homeless population will be explored at Lifetree Café on Sunday, September 13 at 7 p.m. The program, titled “A Day in the Life of the Hidden Homeless,” features a filmed interview with Latoshia Jackson, a mother of eight who has been homeless for the pastyear. Jackson became homeless after her Memphis, TN, home was destroyed by a tornado. “Being homeless is chaotic and stressful, but right now it is just what we have to do,” says Jackson. “It feels like we are facing an existence of day-to-day survival.” Admission to the 60-minute event is free. Lifetree Café is located at Campbell Creek Connexion on the corner of Union and 13th St., Arcata. Lifetree Café is a place where people gather for conversation about life and faith in a casual, comfortable setting.
