Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces."
COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.
Join Harvey II and Holly Harvey as they lead participants through Cha-no-yu, known in the West as the Japanese Tea Ceremony, and Chado, The Way of Tea. These arts involve the ceremonial preparation and consumption of powdered green tea or matcha. Underlying this ritual is a philosophy and practice that can inform and transform daily life.
Each participant will receive a custom-designed mug by Jenna Catsos of Pen & Pine, samples of ceremonial Matcha, sweets, and the kanji for tea hand-painted on rice paper by local artist Georgia Long.
