Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

When: Thu., July 18, 4 p.m. 2019
Phone: 986-7429
TELEGRAPH RIDGE VOLUNTEER FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT hosting an educational and outreach meeting, July 18 th at 4 focusing on the impacts of Sudden Oak Death on area forests. We have identified extensive areas of dead trees that could pose a serious wildfire threat. Hundreds of acres of standing dead timber are visible on satellite images. The areas affected are primarily in the Blue Slide, Mattole Canyon and Grindstone creek watersheds. We will have scientists and staff from the University of California extension office and the Mattole Restoration Council to help us understand the disease and what options we have as residents and land owners.
