Re: “Supreme Court Denies Eureka's Request in Police Video Case

Outstanding.

I've been following this matter and am shocked by the City's continued intransigence throughout the proceedings.

Thank you for steadfastly standing up for what is right, Thadeus Greenson and the NCJ. An individual would have little chance of being successful in a similar situation.

You deserve a medal for hanging in there: the long haul for justice, transparency, and freedom of the press. Well done.

Re: “'A Wake of Destruction:' Warren's Probation Report Sheds New Light on Cruz Waiver

Thank you for the detailed background history, Thaddeus. It is informative and insightful.

It's apparent Mr. Warren never should have been released from custody given his consistent and ongoing record of violence and assault. It's tragically unfortunate that neither the DDA or Judge Cissna objected to his release, or used one wit of common sense to foresee that past behavior is a very good indicator of one's future behavior. Perhaps they didn't even bother to read the presentence report. The community should be outraged-- and demand this never, ever, happens again. Judge Cissna should be held accountable and censured, as well, for causing this chain of events to happen when it could have been intelligently avoided through the normal workings of the justice system.

There are other examples of Warren's antisocial behavior and propensity for violence not mentioned in the article; for example, beating another with a pool cue in a Willow Creek establishment shortly around reaching the age of majority, among others.

One small note: He wasn't sent to the California Youth Academy. He was sent to the California Youth Authority, essentially state prison for juveniles/young adults and the last stop after all rehabilitative efforts have been found to have failed.

Re: “FINAL REPORT

Warm up the bulldozers and contracting crews, it looks like there’s a whole new developer in town to build, build, build— and make some money rezoning and profiteering— with the new slate of pro-growth candidates and a citzenry that can be bought and paid for, hoping for a little trickle-down to come to them.
