Re: “Free Film Rumors Roil Humboldt County

Don't you have something better to blog about? This is a lot of hub-bub about nothing. I can confirm that Food, Inc. will be shown (for free) at 6pm on Friday April 2, at the Arcata Community Center. It is being sponsored by Plan It Green, in conjunction with our conference on Local Self-Reliance being held the very next day. Check us out at www.humboldtplanitgreen.org. The showing of the film was coordinated and will be hosted by the County's Health and Human Services Department (because they are trying to get this type of information out to the general public). The reason for the flap was that in the rental agreement that the County signed with the outfit that owns the rights to the film stipulate that they cannot advertise the free showing on television, radio or in the local print media. The announcement was inadvertently released to the media and for that I apologize.
