Re: “Protesters Try to Block Lighthouse Move

I lived in Trinidad briefly in the late 1960s and early 1970s and fell in love with the views from the Memorial Lighthouse, as did my wife and son. When my beloved wife died in 2013 my son and I felt that the Memorial Lighthouse would be a fitting place for him to remember his parents and so I had our names inscribed there. I have great respect for the native peoples and their concern for their ancestors burial ground. I would hooe that they can show the same respect to those of us who have come later, not as plunderers, but as lovers of the same lands. Wherever the Memorial lands, please let it have a view of the sea where my wife and I will reside for eternity and Where we met. I have spent my career in Historic Maritime Preservation and understand the complexities.
