Re: “What we did, and didn't, learn from the state's audit of skilled nursing facilities

good report is challenging to see that this corporation makes that kind of a profit, yet residents continually complain about care, lack of staff, etc....hopefully this will reverse in the near future, but I just don't see how one person (Shlomo) needs to make that type of a profit on the backs of our residents. He says he buys distressed facilities, etc., maybe instead of buying facilities he take that money and reinvest in the ones' he has....a shepherd doesn't keep adding sheep until he is able to care for the ones he already has!!!!!

Re: “Denied: Appellate Court Rejects Rechnitz Appeal for Change of Venue

lucky for Mr. Shlomo there will be space at the airfield (Murray Field) for his private jet!!! And I am sure one or two of his local minions can chauffeur him back and forth....and I am certain Seaview can find a lovely room for he and the lovely Mrs Shlomo to stay, at a reasonable rate......and the meals will be elegant also....just ask the residents!!!!!!!!!

Re: “Skilled Nursing Defendants File for Change of Venue

WHAT?????? That would be costly for his wife?????....what about the family(ies) of the victims????? I would guess their finances are considerably less than what this man spends on food for one month!!!! He is afraid of the truth coming out that he has failed to live up to his agreements/promises.....I have seriously tried to find some "good" in this man and his business practices...there must be good in everything???? - but to date have found none...I am sure there are living arrangements that can be made - possibly giving them a few rooms in one of the facilities he owns, of which he is so proud .....

Re: “Eureka Rehabilitation and Wellness Center Fined $160,000 by State

unsustainable losses......really, check this out..…. I wish I had that kind of unstainable loss in my monthly income.....Maybe if Shlomo had flown some of the temporary help up here in his private jet they could have saved money??? Just askin'

Re: “Seeking Settlement

It is unfortunate APS did not cross report to the Long Term Care Program; Mr. Magney was a resident of a local nursing home; reports of any type of elder abuse for one residing in a nursing home, or an assisted living facility are to be also reported to LTCO. Had we received a cross report we could have actively advocated for the resident before the court got involved and perhaps save this gentleman and his family unnecessary grief.

Re: “Elder Abuse Case Against Timber Ridge Yields $5 Million Verdict

This facility also failed to make an appropriate and timely 911 call for a resident who was found unresponsive for "over an hour" and by the time medical personnel were called the resident passed. He was a "full code"....this statement made by the representative of TR is inaccurate - these records are public and can be viewed at the Community Care Licensing website.

Re: “Care Home Shut Down, Owner Suspended

It was with the additional support of the local Long-Term Care Ombudsman program that helped protect these residents once it was found that money was being misappropriated, drugs were being re-filled and the residents were not getting the drugs, and other violations of resident rights. There is no local regulatory/governing agency any longer - office is located in Rohnert Park and they only seem to come up when a complaint if filed...facilities know this.. There is a check list on the Area 1 Agency on Aging page, Ombudsman program, that will give you a list of items to check while you review homes. Many of the local facilities are keeping residents beyond the traditional "assistance with activities of daily living"...check the number of "non-ambulatory" residents the facility is licensed for and then check to see how many staff are on at all times....licensing requirements only say "enough to meet the needs of the residents'...what happens in a fire when you have 15 non-ambulatory residents (wheelchairs, walkers, dementia, etc) with one staff person on site ....these are the types of questions you must ask before you place a family member in any facility...
