Meanwhile the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors freely appoints public staff with significant private conflicts of interest, regularly insults local journalists and altogether ignores the county's own media outlets, hires critical public representatives against unanimous department protest, spends inordinate amounts of taxpayer money on closed door meetings, grants themselves pay increases while simultaneously raising everybodys cost of living, etc. etc. etc.
