Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

Sip and Spell

When: Sat., Sept. 12, 7 p.m. 2015
Phone: 269-1991
Price: $20
Kiwanis Club of the Northcoast will be hosting “Sip and Spell”, a Spelling Bee for Adults (Ages 16+), on the evening of September 12th at Celebration Boulevard, 107 Fifth Street in Eureka. Come show just how perspicacious you can be in front of friends and fellow logophiles. Your sartorial make-up for the evening need not matter but your ability to spell corduroy will. Words will be selected out of the 11th edition of Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary. Contestants can register at the door. Tickets are $20.00 and are available at Scrappers Edge in Eureka or at the event. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the Spelling Bee will begin at 7 p.m. “Official Rules” will be followed so join us for the fun. Snacks and adult libations will be available for purchase. This fundraising event will benefit the Humboldt Library Foundation and the Kiwanis Club of the North Coast. For more information please call 269-1991, contact or log onto the Humboldt Library Foundation website at
