Shively in July

Pepperwood dust hung

in sausage curls

by the long, sweet

face of the river.

We ate Co-op bread

from paper sacks as our

bare feet thrummed nature's anthem,

accompanied by ants,

choired by trees,

in

perfect

harmonic

summerese.
