Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

HSU’s Politics Department presents the 13th Victor T. Schaub Memorial Lecture on Local Politics “Sanctuary Cities: What are the Issues?” with speakers Kathleen Lee and Julie Fulkerson. A sanctuary city is one that’s adopted a policy of protecting unauthorized immigrants by not prosecuting them for violating federal immigration laws and by ensuring that all residents have access to city services, regardless of immigration status. The event will explore constitutional questions and conflicts dating to the Pre Civil War era, as well as threats by the Trump Administration to strip federal funding from self-declared sanctuary cities. Location: SciB 135, HSU
