The Sand Sculpture Festival, now in its third decade, is a fun family event for all ages. Form a team and do something creative in the sand, or just enjoy the beach and admire the sculptures. The event is free for spectators. A sliding scale donation of $1 to $5 is encouraged to support Friends of the Dunes education and conservation programs. Every dollar donated gets you a people’s choice flag to vote for your favorite sculpture. The best time to view sculptures is from noon to 2 p.m., and awards will be announced shortly after 2 p.m.
