Safety Salute and Opening Day

With an emphasis on bay safety, local agencies will provide interactive displays, demonstrations, and educational safety services for the public. Activities include demonstrations and tours of a US Coast Guard Rescue Boat, Harbor District Fire Boat, Humboldt County Marine Sheriff Boat, Sea Scouts and the HYC Club House. Bring expired flares to participate in flare practice supervised by the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. Watch the US Coast Guard Helicopter perform an Air-Sea Search and Rescue Demonstration at 11:00 am and the Humboldt Harbor District Fire Boat Water Cannon demonstration at noon. There will be kid's activities, families are welcome.
