Russulas of the West Coast Demystified

Although easy to recognize to genus, identifying Russulas to species has remained one of the most vexing problems for identifiers. A breakthrough came because of the life long efforts of Ben Woo, first president of Seattle’s PSMS and mushroom hobbyist, whose collections were sequenced and analyzed in professional mycologist Anna Bazzicalupo’s PhD dissertation.
