Join Sanctuary Forest on Sunday, September 18th for the Restoration Forestry in Action hike, led by Sanctuary Forest Board President Campbell Thompson, SF’s Lands Program Director Galen Doherty, and Tim Metz of Restoration Forestry. Held in Whitethorn Grove in the Mattole River headwaters, topics will include the history of forestry on the property, the use of forest management to accelerate the return of old-growth conditions, and a discussion of future stewardship projects planned for the property. Meet at the Sanctuary Forest office at 10 a.m., bring a lunch and water and wear comfortable hiking shoes.
