Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces."
COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.
Redwood National Park is partnering with the Watershed Stewards Program for a restoration event in honor of the park’s 50th anniversary! The event will be held at the Elk Meadow Picnic Area and the Trillium Falls Trailhead on Saturday, April 7th, from 10AM to 2PM. Volunteers will help remove invasive plants, replace them with native vegetation, and open up a pond to juvenile Coho salmon! Guided hikes and family friendly activities will be led by park interpreters throughout the event. Gloves, tools, food, and refreshments will be provided. The first 60 volunteers in attendance will also receive an RNSP bandana.
