Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces."
COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.
Gerry Hale speaks about ethnic restaurants in Humboldt County during the '30s, '40s and '50s.
Gerry will cover 2 non-Italian restaurants, and then focus on 4 out of the dozens of Italian retaurants that existed at the time. The four he'll highlight are: Lazio's, Roy's Club, The Big 4, and the Bella Vista. The Bella Vista has the most details because Gerry lived it.
Gerry says that this is a “work-in-progress”. So, if anyone has pertintent information, please bring it along.
