Headliner Dale Watson's band is called the Lone Stars and he quickly pulled a bottle of Lone Star beer out of a pocket to quench his thirst at the Western Roundup on Friday night at the Adorni Center. His on-stage banter with the audience soon called for glasses of tequila from the bar, which fans happily delivered, but his alcohol-fueled performance of vintage country didn't seem to suffer.

Headliner in a long, well-performed set for the The Western Roundup on Friday night at the Adorni Center was Dale Watson and the Lone Stars. Watson has a well-deserved reputation as a creative song writer, singer and guitar player with a sense of humor in his well-rehearsed on-stage delivery.

Paul Vegnani, of Loleta, collects autographs on baseballs by musicians he's listened to at concerts and was surprised to learn when he got Tom Rigney's autograph before Rigney's Sunday performance at the Adorni Center that Tom was the son of Bill Rigney, a 26-year Major League baseball veteran, who played for the New York Giants from 1946 to 1953 and then spent 18 seasons as the manager of three major-league clubs.

Willard Blackwell of Gator Nation passed on his familiar washboard to another band member but remained as lead singer of his band's popular Cajun, Zydeco and New Orleans R&B songs on Sunday at the Adorni Center. Gator Nation did five sets during the festival.
