Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

Post-fire Town Hall Meetings

When: Mon., Nov. 2, 5:30-7:30 p.m. 2015
Price: Free
Lightning in late July made for a very busy fire season on the Six Rivers National Forest. Throughout much of August and September, fire managers battled the Mad River, Route, River and Gasquet complexes, as well as the Nickowitz Fire. Now that most of these fires have been contained—although they will all continue to burn or smolder until a season-ending rain or snow event—Forest Supervisor Merv George Jr. is extending an invitation to anyone that wants to be a part of a conversation about the 2015 fire season. “For two months, we had a lot of fire activity on the Six Rivers. Now that things are winding down, we’d like to reach out to our communities to share information about this fire season,” said George. “This means sharing not only our perspective of how the season went, but also hearing from the people and the communities that were affected by these fires.”
