Mike Grimaldo, of Fortuna, was invited by vigil emcee Rex Bohn to come forward with his flag as Bohn led the crowd in the Pledge of Allegiance. Grimaldi's flag includes a blue stripe, "The Thin Blue Line," a symbol used to commemorate fallen law enforcement officers and to symbolize the relationship of law enforcement in the community as the protectors of fellow civilians from criminal elements, according to Wikipedia.
