Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces."
COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.
Several Humboldt County area artists will showcase their paintings capturing scenes and moods of the Trinidad coastal landscape in their preferred medium at the Third Annual Plein Air show opening at the Simmons Gallery in Trinidad on Friday, July 5, 2019 from 6 - 9 p.m. during Trinidad Art Nights. There will be food, drinks, and live music by Tim O’Gara. The show, sponsored by Trinidad Coastal Land Trust (TCLT), exhibits paintings depicting perspectives of the astounding seascape of some of TCLT’s preserved landholdings from Little River to Big Lagoon. This show allows painters of various schools to encapsulate these beautiful surroundings and bring their artistic vision to the community in one show. The show runs from July 5 through September 28 during the regular Simmons Gallery hours of 1 - 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. This year, the list of artists includes John Crater, Stock Schleuter, Paul Rickard, Andrew Daniel, Rick Tolley, Bjorn Lundeen, and more.
