Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces."
COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.
Secondary poisoning of wildlife through the use of rat poisons is a growing problem resulting in death of beneficial predators. Redwood Region Audubon Society will sponsor this program with speaker Maggie Rufo, a volunteer with the Hungry Owl Project and steering committee member for Raptors Are the Solution. She will discuss these two grassroots groups that share a common goal: eliminating secondary poisoning of beneficial predators like owls, hawks, coyotes, bobcats, mountain lions, and the Pacific Fisher. Bring a mug to enjoy shade-grown coffee and come fragrance free. "Rat Poison Kills More Than Rats."
