Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces."
COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.
The keynote speaker will be Charlie Frederick, who is employed by the ACLU of Northern California. The topic will be "Civil Liberties in the Age of Trump." In addition, the annual election will be held. The ACLU is looking for new board members locally. If anyone is interested, they should attend the annual meeting. Finally, the Redwood ACLU will present its annual Patriot Award, an award for a a person who has made a difference to civil liberties in Humboldt County. This year's recipient of the award is Renee Saucedo.
