Passport to Adventure

Passport to Adventure is a fundraiser with all proceeds supporting the Arcata Ropes Course, Redwood Day Camp summer adventures for youth, and handicapped accessible Ropes Course/Canopy Tour elements. Passport to Adventure is an amazing race in and around Humboldt Bay for all ages brought to you by Arcata Recreation and North Coast Adventure Centers. Form a team of 2-8 racers. Teams are judged on style, sportsmanship, and completion time for each competition. There are nine competitions; Cross-Fit Log Pull Challenge, Stand-Up Paddle Board Balance, Vertical Playpen, 30 ft. Cargo Net Climb, Nitro Rope Swing Crossing, Flex It-Yoga Challenge, 75 ft. Redwood Tree Climb, Kayak Time Trial, Marsh Run, and Sand Castle Design and Build. Be sure to attend the Fundraiser and Race Information Meeting on Friday, June 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. Meet at Humboldt Bay Tourism Center, 2nd & G St, Old Town Eureka. At least one race member must be present to receive passport instruction. Saturday, June 22 the Race begins at 9 a.m. with the Final Challenge at 3 p.m. at Oyster Beach, 865 New Navy Base Rd in Samoa. Team supporters are welcome and encouraged. An award ceremony follows. Oysters are for sale both evenings, fresh from Humboldt Bay. Fee: $50 minimum donation per racer when registered before Saturday, June 1 (donation includes a t-shirt).
