Re: “HumCPR Rising

Gee whiz, the horrors of it all. If Ryan had changed the name to Mark Lovelace and the politics to the left, he'd have the same story, though I doubt he'd have the horrified "how could this happen" tilt to his story...

Re: “Good Cops Aren't Afraid of Cameras

"So why did a Eureka officer threaten to arrest the Journal’s editor?" Not for taking pictures but for inserting herself into an ongoing investigation when she could of just stayed out of the way and taken all of the pictures she desired.

Re: “Occupy not Over

@Tobin And you are??? When Heraldo, Plain Jane, Buzz, and others decide to put their names to their posts, I will happily do the same; as far as these local Occupiers rising up and acting out, the certainly have - making a mess and cursing at passersby. Between frequent shouting matches between the mentally indigent who are there every day, mixed in with threats ( I've been called a "motherfucking one percenter" recently when going up the steps of the courthouse, perhaps because (gasp) I was wearing a suit, any message is lost. That was the point of this article. Name one meaningful accomplishment the local OE'ers have acheived.

Re: “Occupy not Over

It was simply awesome seeing one of the frequent flyers of the OE movement dining this evening at a franchise of one mega evil national corporados, otherwise known as McDonalds. Dude, shouldnt you have been eating at Stars, or one of the other local burger bars, paying eight bucks for a burger and fries, instead of grazing from the dollar menu? YOU have deprived local employees from a living wage by partaking in MickeyD's yummylicious value menu.

Re: “Going Once

The only advertisers in the NCJ are pot related, so I hardly think they'd care. Nice thought though, Michael, I'm with you.

Re: “Drug Money

I guess I should take your word for it, as opposed to the dictionary, lmao. This example is #4 from my "inferior" dictionary - websters. Guess Buzz's dictionary is more reputable than good old Websters. Once again, with feeling: infer: “to hint; imply; suggest” But you are playing a semantics game (and losing badly). Zach tried to draw the reader to conclusions that are untrue.

Re: “Drug Money

"Consult a dictionary before using “infer,” P. " Gosh Buzz, I'm sorry you don't understand the world. Did you read the article Buzz - I don't think you did - if you did, your comprehension is lacking. There is clear implication that agencies are using asset forfiture (sp) $$$ are being used for officers' families for swanky vacations. Btw, per dictionary - infer: "to hint; imply; suggest" "And who cares if the attorney is married to a Journal freelancer?"
Freelancer? No, Buzz, she writes a regular column for the NCJ. Freelancer or employee, it's irrelevant - she is married to someone that was a prominent source for a NCJ cover story - that should be disclosed... I guess you don't think Bob Doran interviewing his wife and not disclosing it was a big deal either. It was, and this is. "Oh, and let us know when you find that objectivity you’re looking for" I know where I won't find it - with you or the NCJ or Judy Hodgeson.
