Intricate, beautiful, and diverse, orchids have a special allure. Join botanist Tony LaBanca on a guided tour of the Lanphere Dunes on Saturday, August 1 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to find native orchids along the forest and dune trails. Not all orchids are big and showy, bring a magnifying lens if you have one. Meet at Pacific Union School, 3001 Janes Rd. in Arcata to carpool to the protected site.
