Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

North Group Sierra Club Hike

When: Sun., Nov. 6, 10 a.m. 2016
Phone: 825-3652
Email: nedforsyth48@gmail.com
The North Group Sierra Club invites the public to a hike in the Horse Mountain Botanical Area on Sunday, November 6. Carpools meet at 9:00 a.m. at Ray's Valley West Shopping Center or meet at 10:00 a.m. at the Horse Mountain parking area. This moderate, 5 file hike consists of two loop trails, each just over 2 miles, mostly on dirt roads. One loop is to the west of the parking area, past the old “Ski Chalet” site, with views of the King Range, the Siskiyous, and the coast. The other loop trail is to the north and east among rugged Jeffrey pines, red rocks, and a short stretch of cobblestone-strewn single track, looking at the Trinity Alps, the Yolla Bollys, and maybe a peek at Mt. Lassen. Bring lunch, water and good boots. No dogs. For more info, call leader Ned at (707) 825-3652 or nedforsyth48@gmail.com. Heavy rain cancels.
