The North Group Sierra Club invites the public to a hike on the Skunk Cabbage Trail in Redwood National Park on Saturday, March 18. Carpools meet at 9:00 a.m. at Ray's Valley West Shopping Center in Arcata or 10:00 a.m. at the Skunk Cabbage trailhead, north of Orick off of Highway 101 (look for sign on highway.) Bring water and lunch. This popular, moderately difficult, eight mile hike will follow Skunk Cabbage Creek, passing stands of the freshly-blooming namesake plant, and a dainty sprinkle of others, to a high coastal overlook, then winds northward and descends gradually to the beach.
