Re: “The Market

Lynn, I loved your article about Fieldbrook Market & Eatery. For the store I nearly go back to the beginning of the store. Wilma Wymer was the owner at that time. My Dad Louis Macinata moved in to help Wilma with the store. After my Dad died in 1964, Wilma sold the store to John in 1965. I never knew his last name. I did go into the store a few times after that. John did a little remodeling of the store. He took the wall our between the two rooms. He still lived in the back of the old store. I was saddened when the store burned down. A lot of my childhood memories went with it. The penny candy jar that sat on the counter. I used to raid it daily. The pop machine next to the door (bottle of pop 10cents). Going into Eureka to get supplies for the store. After John rebuilt and sold the store. I did meet the owner in 1972 and again in 2003. He knew who I was in 2003. He asked me if I wanted to buy the store. I told him no. Anyway love the article and hope nothing but the best for the new owners. I really don't know if I will ever get to see it again. I will always have those memories.
