Re: “Raising Grandchildren

Often when people think of autism they think that person cannot speak for him or herself. So while I cannot blame the media for not bothering to contact me because of this kind of assumption I am available for discourse at 707-215-9657 ext. 701.

Re: “Raising Grandchildren

Also while I know grandpa is proud no more pictures of baby Emily in the newspaper. I know there is political importance with making stories more personal to help grandparents who hold the role as providers with regard to Emily I would like for her future social and psychological development to not be altered by this. I think it's also important to portray real life stories but this is the second story about myself and my daughter and I was not contacted for comment and facts in either story and how I was portrayed was effected which also effects Emily's future in my professional career so as to provide for her as people know about both me and my father in media awarenesses and offline and connect the dots. Thank you.

Re: “Raising Grandchildren

I am a bit disappointed in some of the portrayed facts regarding myself and my daughter Emily Rose. It was a planed pregnancy, I didn't move to the house after pregnancy and I didn't move out at all near the time of the mother when she was put in jail again for 51/50. I have autism and am a public advocate with large amounts of community awareness including front page featured stores, T.V news, other articles and hours of radio time for disability work and developmental disability inclusion. My parents said they would never have a grandchild from me becuase of autism and early on in the pregnancy my surprise to them I talked to them about how I would needs lots of help and baby's are very hard to take care of and my job will allow me to take care of her when she can talk, go to the bathroom on her own and go on a school bus on her own with other independent skills. I want to make sure the facts are right because Emily is my daughter and I work allot to make sure she has a good future. It's ok if grandparents want to change the system but not every story is about dead beat parents who make the mature decision to pre-plan and as well as assure to the well being of their children when they cannot do everything by themselves because of disability. While it's true the baby was not fed right during times when the biological mother had feeding turns when it was my turn to feed she would not suck right and the public health nurse I arranged for to come to the house helped with but the mother reported she drank more of the bottles when she obviously did not. Baby's make me VERY nervous and worry all the time.
