It's entirely possible that the house in Arcata could have been only a small part of a much larger (grow) operation.
I wouldn't put it past the commercial growers to always have a few small sacrificial operations going in local neighborhood locations, knowing that law enforcement will more easily find and hit those operations first, thus deflecting attention away from the larger operations going on elswhere.
I've tuned into KMUD 3 different times this morning and all they've been talking about is the fires. KHUM and KSLG seem to have more about the fed's current activity.
