Media Bias Questioned at Lifetree Café

Bias in the news media will be explored at Lifetree Café on Sunday, September 11 at 7 p.m. The program--titled “Bias: What’s the Media’s Agenda?”--features filmed interviews with three current and former news journalists discussing the current state of bias in the media. “I would say this is the most unprofessional period of American journalism I can recall in the last 30 years,” says David Aikman, a former correspondent for Time. “It’s just been extraordinarily unquestioning and dismissive of opposition viewpoints” During the program, participants will have an opportunity to discuss what level of tilt they see in the news media. Admission to the 60-minute event is free. Lifetree Café is located on the corner of Union and 13th, Arcata. Lifetree Café is a place where people gather for conversation about life and faith in a casual, comfortable setting.
