Mattole River Revamp

Help restore part of the Mattole watershed. This particular event is head started by members of the Watershed Steward Program, yet the project aligns with a large-scale collaborative effort of the Mattole Restoration Council, Mattole Salmon Group, and The King Range BLM District. The primary goals of this project are to restore and enhance riparian habitat for steelhead, Coho, and Chinook (as well as other wildlife species) by mitigating bank erosion with placement of willows and eradication the ornamentally beautiful, yet horribly invasive, scotch broom. The event will start at the Petrolia Community Center with snacks and coffee, a carpool to the work site where the actual restoration will take place, and finish off at the Mattole Beach with an appreciation BBQ/Campout.
