Re: “You Have One Last Chance To Put Bon Boniere in Your Face

When the Arcata location closed I was afraid the Eureka location would close too. I am deeply saddened by this. Bon Boniere has always been a highlight of family days. They had more than just ice cream and everything was fantastic.

Re: “With Wal-Mart Looming, Toy Barn to Close its Doors

This is coming from someone who values local business but I've expected Toy Barn to close for years before Wal-Mart was an issue. Toy Barn's prices are ridiculous even for a local business and I've been able to find the same products for a lot less at other local kid stores.

Re: “HCSO Bust Locates 3,881 Plants, $387,000, Triscuits

Dismal opportunities to make a legitimate livable income+ increasing food prices divided by needing to provide for 4 small kids= Grow-Op If no REAL drugs were found I think this is sad. Dayquil, triscuits (the good ones I might add), and a subway cup...this could be anyone's table minus the mouth watering mountains of money of course.

Re: “Design Undone

Ok, this may sound cruel but I'm not surprised. There were too many locations. I like a lot of their stuff but, like many if not most Humboldt residents, I have to go with the best bargain. It was a store that I liked to look at but could not afford to purchase anything beyond earrings. I believe in supporting small business but I think they opened too many locations and stretched their finances thin. I actually was attempting to get a job there once and I knew something was awry when she cancelled my interview and pretty much told me they couldn't afford to hire anyone.

Re: “Water Snakes

To the person from SoCal, it would make sense that you don't understand the value of a natural resource to it's native area considering Southern California has historically been draining, literally, surrounding areas of their natural resources. Those of us who live on or near these resources witness the damage it is doing to our area and our way of life.
