Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

Planning for Long Term Care Workshop Recent studies show that 40% of those over 70 need assistance with daily tasks. Two-thirds of those over 40 have done little or no planning. What option for care will be right for you or right for your parent when the time comes? Learn the differences in the care provided at skilled nursing and assisted living facilities and what in-home care solutions are available in the community.

Attend “Choose a Long Term Care Setting” workshop, sponsored by Hospice of Humboldt on Tuesday, May 21, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The third in a series of seven workshops on making informed choices about issues of aging, “Choosing a Long Term Care Setting” offers a panel of presenters from skilled nursing and assisted living facilities and providers of home care. A question and answer session follows. The workshop is held at Humboldt Area Foundation, 373 Indianola Road, Bayside. Call Jana at 497-6260, ext. 102 for more information and to register. Workshop fee of $25 is payable at the door and materials are provided.
