The Eureka Woman’s Club is providing a program to the public and its members on September 20th. Leanne Langston, the Long Term Care Ombudsman Volunteer Coordinator and Outreach Specialist from Area 1 Agency on Aging, will be speaking about the long-term care ombudsman program.
The Ombudsman is a state and federally-mandated program that advocates for residents in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities in Humboldt and Del Norte Counties to ensure they receive the best quality of life and care that they deserve. They investigate all reports of abuse and work together with local law enforcement and Adult Protective Services to help assist and protect these residents.
The program starts at 12:30 p.m. and will allow time for questions. The club meets at noon for a brown bag lunch before the program. Coffee and dessert will be provided.
The Eureka Woman’s Club was started in 1901 as the Monday Club Federation of Eureka with 22 members. The Craftsman-style clubhouse was completed in 1917. he Eureka Women’s Club is a not-for-profit 1(c)(3) organization. Our purpose is to work toward the betterment of our community through cultural, educational, and social programs.
