Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

Let The Forest Heal

A log coming TO Elk River? Pacific Alliance for Indigenous and Environmental Action (PAIEA) brings a message to the people of the Northwest: Let the Forest Heal. Beginning in Mendocino County, inspired by a dream, the message is represented by a small redwood log carried by a walking procession of local people, changing as the log moves north. The log arrives at Eureka’s Hikshari waterfront trail, at the mouth of Elk River, for a ceremony to honor and call attention to this damaged watershed. The log’s next stop will be Arcata’s North Country Fair.
