Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces."
COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.
Dr. Stephen Trettel, Szegö Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Stanford University, discusses the fascinating nature of light and the quest for a theory of light, from antiquity to the present. Surprising phenomena will be discussed, such as ring-like mirages appearing in images from the Hubble space telescope.
Please visit the event URL for detailed information. For more information about Dr. Trettel, visit http://www.stevejtrettel.site/.
The public is welcome to this free lecture, which is geared toward a general audience. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, masks are required regardless of vaccination status. See https://campusready.humboldt.edu/ for details about HSU’s pandemic safety procedures.
