Arcata Library, in partnership with Bibliophile Larissa at Tin Can Mailman, invites tween readers, ages 10-13, to share light refreshments and a good summer read - Operation Redwoods, by S. Terrence French - every Friday at 2:00, from June 28 through July 26. The title - winner of the National Green Earth Book Award - is a fast-paced and captivating tale about a twelve year-old boy named Julian and his friends, who pursue a course of action to save ancient redwoods from being cut down by Julian's greedy uncle.
