Re: “The Ripple Effect

First, the Devils Playground is not a new moniker for the area. Those who say so are manipulating history in order to discredit the reasonable people who are upset.

The name has been around in one form or another since the 1980's when the Satanic Panic urban legend swept the country. At that time it was named "Satans's Hall" and that named morphed into the playground during the late 90's when the early graph artists starting rattling back there.

Second it is a fallacy to blame planning as the singular blame for housing. A monumentally more significant reason is that our number one industry has operated in private rooms which people used to sleep in. That is why housing has been short for years, and we also did not suffer the housing bubble popping.

"She said she'd initially hoped to get more than $1 million in the case"

Many of us would like to make the world a better place. We save our money and plan on paying for it ourselves.

Some people would rather do good using other peoples money, or worse just want a free ride in life under the guise of "doing good".

It seems that the enablement strategy has not done well for her or her family. And it seems clear that our tax money is going to help pay for her mistakes.

She did not have the success in life to do the kind deeds she wanted to, so she tried to do them anyway by trespass. And in doing so found her biggest payday in her own lawlessness.
