Recently honored at the Library of Congress, he’s been elevated into the realm of bona fide American treasures. A “songwriter’s songwriter,” Prine is a rare talent who writes material other musicians would sell their souls for. The long list of stars who have recorded gems from his extensive catalog include Johnny Cash, Bonnie Raitt, the Everly Brothers, Kris Kristofferson, and Joan Baez.
