Santiago Baca is an writer, activist and teacher of Apache and Chicano descent. He learned to read and write while in prison and in doing so turned his life around. His work has been made into a documentary, won a Pushcart Prize, The International Prize, The American Book Award and he was recognized for his community and educational outreach with a Humanitarian Award and Cornelius P. Turner Award from the City of Albuquerque. He will give a short reading intimate reading.
