Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces."
COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.
Humboldt Pet Supply is seeking volunteers to help clean up the
Arcata Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary on Saturday, August 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Humboldt Pet Supply is hosting this socially distant clean up day to help reduce our community’s
environmental paw print by cleaning up abandoned pet waste and trash left behind.
Volunteers of all ages are welcome and participants are encouraged to wear boots, dress for the weather
and bring a water bottle. Participants are asked to meet at Humboldt Pet Supply, located at 145 G Street
in Arcata, to pick up clean up supplies anytime between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. All supplies and waste must
be brought back to Humboldt Pet Supply by 4 p.m. All volunteers will receive goodie bags, and those
who collect the most waste will win a choice of prizes from local businesses including Redwood Curtain
Brewery, the Beneficial Living Center, Humboldt Herb & Market, Alchemy Distillery and Humboldt Pet
Supply.
