Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

Humboldt Eastern Railroad proposal

When: Sat., Jan. 26, 12-1 p.m. 2019
The proposal for a railroad from Eureka east to the Sacramento Valley will be the topic of Eureka attorney Bill Bertain, an advocate of the plan during a public forum hosted by North Coast Mensa. He will speak at noon Saturday (Jan. 26) at the Samoa Cookhouse. Lunch is no-host. The plan is described as an intermodal, docks and truck hub system forming a freight corridor from Humboldt Bay to connect with Union Pacific rail lines in the valley..
