It is actually sad how little the T-S is covering considering what smaller papers are doing with smaller staffs these days. Understaffing is the name of the game in newspapers now and most are coping fairly well. That the T-S covers what they do is probably sheer luck. They have like three solid people (two reporters and one photographer) who seem to be carrying the whole paper. What the other staffers do is a mystery. The only place we ever see them is eating lunch in a group or getting coffee in a group.
Take away their Star Staffers and the T-S is pure dreck. Don't read it, don't advertise in it, and don't visit their website. It's pointless. All the stories you want to read are reposted on news feeds that include more local headlines than the T-S ever will.
I always prefer to drop my ad dollars and clicks on the LOCAL papers like the Journal or the Eye or the Jack and now Savage Henry.
One word describes the T-S:
FAIL.
