Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces."
COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.
Home Grown Host Homes is a new nonprofit in Humboldt County. Using the host home model, we address youth homelessness. Our program provides youth (18-24) with more than just a place to sleep—it offers mentorship, relationship building, community connection, and individualized support needed to find a sustainable path out of homelessness.
We’re looking for caring community members who are willing to share their homes and “host” a youth for 3-12 months. This information session will go over what hosting entails and answer questions.
