As a Eureka Native, I look at the TS and ER via the Web almost daily. Today, I spent about 15 minutes at the ER site and about 2 minutes at the TS. Now, I live in San Jose and have to put up with Singleton's Mercury News. He bought a quality paper and is rapidly turning it into a rag.
But there is hope. Years ago, Dave Price started Palo Alto Daily News. It grew in circulation and continued to expand into neighboring communities including San Jose. It was then bought out by the Mercury News.
Price is back with the Daily Post. It shouldn't take long to compete with the crap put out by Media News Group.
It is all getting hazy now, but I thought I remembered Lazio opening a new place on 2nd or 3rd street perhaps in the 80's. I used to come up there a lot until gas prices rose to a consistant level of 25-30 cents above Willits!
